Sugar House: Downtown Salt Lake’s Hip Neighbor

Sugar House is one of Salt Lake City’s most sought-after neighborhoods. Known for its eclectic mix of shopping and dining, vintage neon signs, and an abundance of green space, this vibrant, walkable community is not short on charm.

Park Avenue has accessibility down to a science. From here you can easily opt for either the mountains or the city, and be immersed in either one in a matter of minutes. Located in the southeast corner of Salt Lake City’s popular Sugar House Business District, access to I-80 and I-15 is within a block, as are a variety of public transportation options, including the Sugar House S-Line streetcar line, bus stops and even the PRATT and McClelland nature trails. Salt Lake International Airport lies a mere 15 minutes away, while several of Utah’s renowned ski resorts are within an easy 30-minute drive.

Sugar House Park

Sugar House Park is considered by many to be the premiere park in the Salt Lake Valley. This beloved park plays host to year-round activity from soccer and other sports, to children’s play areas, picnic spots, and even sledding and sleigh-riding. The park also boosts a 1.9 mile trail popular among walkers, runners, and cross-country ski trainers.

Fairmont Park

Fairmont Park, on the west side of Sugar House, is home to soccer and softball fields, a popular skate park, and even sand volleyball courts. The Salt Lake County-run Fairmont Aquatic Center organizes swim teams, learn-to-swim classes and children’s programs along with being home to the Queer Utah Aquatic Club.
